The four dental implants used in the process are made up of three parts:

  • The abutment which connects the implant to the new set of teeth
  • A bridge which is attached to the abutment and together with the other 3 dental implants support a complete arch of new teeth in your lower or upper jaw

ALL-ON-4 DENTAL IMPLANT PROCEDURE IN WOKING

There are 5 main steps for the all-on-4 dental implant process:

Initial Consultation

At your free consultation, our expert dentist will talk to you and give you more information about the treatment for all-on-4 dental implants. Then your teeth and mouth will be thoroughly examined. You will be questioned about your general and dental health too.

All-on-4 dental surgery

Once you decide to go ahead with the treatment, we will book you in for your Same Day Teeth dental surgery. You will be given a local anaesthetic which means that you won’t be able to feel anything in your mouth. If you have any failing or remaining teeth, these will be extracted. Our dental expert will then carefully place the 4 dental implants into your upper or lower jaw. Once this is complete, a temporary fixed bridge will be attached so that you can leave the dental practice with a new set of teeth!

Healing

Your mouth and gums may feel sore as the local anaesthetic wears off, but this should feel better in a day or two. Your dental implants will take between 2 and 6 months to efficiently fuse to your jawbone. At this time, we will be preparing your custom-made dental bridge.

Restoration

You will be invited back to the dental practice to have your bespoke dental bridge fitted to your dental implants. This will be custom-made and fitted with new teeth that look and feel completely natural.

After care

Care and maintenance of your dental implants is essential to enhance their longevity as well as to protect your oral hygiene. Your dentist and hygienist can tell you how to brush and floss effectively with dental implants.

Dental implants with dentures

You may choose to use mini dental implants to hold the dentures much more securely and comfortably. The added benefit is the bone will be preserved around the dental implant.

All-On-4 Implants Faqs

Are all-on-4 dental implants better than dentures?
There are advantages and disadvantages to both dental implants and dentures. We advise that you speak to an expert dental implantologist who can tell you about both treatments and help to decide which is right for you. Dentures are less costly than dental implants, but they can be uncomfortable and slip in the mouth. All-on-4 dental implants will provide a more permanent solution to replace missing or failing teeth in the upper or lower jaw.
Will my new replacement teeth look natural?
Yes. Our dentists are experts and highly trained in making and fitting replacement teeth that are bespoke and right for you. We will match the shape and shade to suit you. Molds will be taken to ensure that they perfectly fit the size and shape of your mouth and jaw.
How soon will I be able to get back to work after all-on-4 dental surgery?
Most patients are surprised about how well they feel after the surgery. You may experience some soreness or swelling the day after the surgery, but this will quickly settle down. We find that many of our patients are back into their usual routines including work a day or two after the Same Day Teeth surgery.
